    FEDERAL ENGINEERS was founded in 1973 by Mr. D.K. BUHARIWALLA and his partners. A very small company at start-up it has grown into one of the Largest Manufacturer of cranes in India, specializing in cranes for STEEL PLANTS.

    FEDERAL ENGINEERS is also the Largest Exporter of industrial cranes from India.

  • 1973 - 1986:FEDERAL ENGINEERS starts off as a very small company with 2 factories at THANE. Starts off by making small capacity cranes. Due to the good quality of cranes, starts off getting orders for higher capacity cranes.
  • 1986 - 1993:Increases capacity by adding new plant at Nerul. Start of the computerization drive initiated by Mr. D.K. BUHARIWALLA. First company to buy CAD software in the crane industry. Invested heavily in making customized software for design, estimation and drawings.
  • 1992:Started off very big factory in Navi Mumbai, where we could manufacturer very heavy capacity cranes. Continuous investment into software and automation helped FEDERAL ENGINEERS to increase turnover very fast.
  • 1992 - 1997:FEDERAL ENGINEERS saw a very huge increase and jump in turnover. Maximum orders received were for Steel Plant duty cranes. Approximately 95% turnover of FEDERAL ENGINEERS was done by manufacturing Steel Plant Duty cranes.
  • 1997 - 2003:FEDERAL ENGINEERS started off exporting cranes to neighboring countries and slowly started making a big name in Exports. Even during slowdown in the industrial growth / economy FEDERAL ENGINEERS continued to grow with good results due to its exports. The company also added manufacturing capacity in this period.
  • 2003 - 2009:FEDERAL ENGINEERS started off a huge expansion drive. Revamped an old factory used for fabrication and increased its capacity by making a heavier shed and bigger cranes for handling bigger loads.

    Revamped another old factory to increase capacity and production. Massive jump in turnover without compromise in quality due to early expansions.
  • 2009:Starts of building 2 new State of the Art factories at Ambernath. Export turnover jumps to 70% of Production. FEDERAL ENGINEERS increases the number of countries exported to.
  • 2010:Completion of new factory. Starts Production at Ambernath. Start off State of the Art CNC CENTRE in Ambernath factory.
  • 2011:Expansion Plans to Ambernath factory. Addition of New High Difination Plasma cutting centre. New Additions to CNC center. Plans to invest highly into Automation.
